LAWRENCE UNDERWOOD

LAWRENCE

My father played upright bass and my uncle played fiddle.  They played

bluegrass and country music.  That was my first exposure to live music.  I

was lucky enough to have seen Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Jethro

Tull in the  60's.  Mitch Mitchell, John Bonham and Clive Bunker,

Jethro Tulls' first drummer are three of my favorite drummers.  They

all took rock and blues drumming to new levels of musicianship and

innovation.  I like playing blues because if a band can't find a version

of a song that fits their playing style, they can develop their own version.

I also like the opportunities for the improvisation that Blues provides and

kickin' ass with FLAT BLASTARD.
