| BornBorn in Calgary,
Alberta, that's in Canada for all you Yankees. (Just kidding)
Born in Calgary, Alberta Canada in 1962. I had no
formal musical
training, just a love for music, particularly the
Blues.
In fact out of six children, I was the only one without
music lessons, I
chose dancing instead, which I pursued for 15 years.
My earliest musical influence came from my father who
has a wonderful voice.
I remember him singing all the country greats by Johnny
Cash, Merle Haggard
and Waylon Jennings, just to name a few.
I met three of the current band members 21 years ago
during one of their
tours in Calgary. It was VERY shortly after that
I came to the "good ole USA".
Two of them became surrogate brothers, one of them
became my husband.
Strangely enough, I never even thought of playing music
with them until another friend,
John Coyle asked if I would be interested in putting
something together.
I guess I figured it was now or never, I sure
wasn't getting any younger.
Besides, my daughter and my husband who are both
immensely talented are
taking over the music room. It never worked out
with John, but I'll
always be thankful for the push that he gave me.
I played my first gig as a Flat Blastard on my 40th
birthday, and hope we'll
all still be making music together on my 60th.
I'm having a blast being a "FLAT BLASTARD".
